Union Park

Union Park is a new-concept environmental infrastructure facility, the first in Korea to house both a waste treatment facility and a sewage treatment facility underground, established in 2015. The park was built to address the need for improvement of aging incineration and food waste treatment facilities, and to expand environmental infrastructure due to the rapid population increase in areas such as Misa District. Underground facilities include an incineration treatment facility, a recycling sorting facility, and a food waste resource recovery facility. Above ground, there are various resident-friendly amenities such as a grass plaza, a children's water play area, a multi-purpose gymnasium, and outdoor sports facilities. Notably, Union Tower within the park is a 105-meter-high observatory. From the 4th-floor observatory, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of Hanam's beautiful scenery, starting from the Han River to Geomdansan Mountain and the Misari Rowing Stadium.
