Gyohadong Dolmen Forest Bath

This area features dolmens from the prehistoric era, sports facilities such as a reflexology path, and a cherry blossom tree path. In the hilly area adjacent to Daul-dong, Dangha-dong, and Gyoha-dong near Gyoha Middle School in Dongpae-dong, there are over 100 dolmens forming a cluster. However, most of the dolmens were destroyed during the construction of military facilities, leaving only about 20, of which six in good condition are designated as monuments. The dolmen excavated in Daul-dong was already damaged, so its original lower structure is not well preserved, but it is presumed to be of the table type. Artifacts found around the dolmen include small pottery fragments. Some dolmens have been relocated and restored to Gyeonggi Provincial Government, Tongil-ro, and Onyang Folk Museum. Most of the excavated dolmens in Dangha-dong are also out of their original positions. Among the dolmens, some have a lower structure made of oval stone piles.

Around the dolmens, polished stone daggers, arrowheads, and whetstones have been collected. During the investigation of the Dangha-dong dolmens, a Bronze Age house site was excavated. The house site is a rectangular pit house measuring 12.5m in length, 4m in width, and 40-80m in depth. The roof is presumed to have been a gable roof. From the house site, hole-patterned pottery, plain pottery, polished stone daggers, and spindle whorls were found. There are two hearth sites inside the house. This house site provides valuable data for understanding the daily lives of the prehistoric people who built the dolmens.
