4.16 Hope Woodworking Shop is a place that gives new life to discarded wood from Ansan through products and woodworking experiences. To create a warm world where people live together through woodworking, the parents of the Sewol ferry victims gathered starting in 2015, and the shop began operating with its opening in May 2019. The shop is led by three carpenters: the reliable Papa Smurf Miji's Dad (Yoo Hae-jong), the grumpy but diligent Minjeong's Dad (Kim Byeong-jun), and the passionate Suyeon's Dad (Lee Jae-bok). They convey the spirit of the Sewol ferry, the dreams of the children, and hope for the world through woodworking. Each sawing and sanding action carries longing, hope, and dreams for a better society.
