Seolbongsan Mountain

Seolbongsan Mountain is about 394m high and serves as the guardian mountain of Icheon City. Surrounding the city from the west, it is also called Buaksan Mountain, Muhaksan Mountain, or Buhaksan Mountain. Seolbongsan has a total of 5 hiking trails, all starting and ending at the parking lot of Seolbong Park. Course 3 is a representative hiking course that passes through the park entrance → Hoam Mineral Spring → Seolbongsanseong Fortress → Summit → Hwadujae → Haksajeong Pavilion. It allows visitors to explore cultural heritage sites such as Seolbongsanseong Fortress from the Silla period, Wolleongam Hermitage built during the Goryeo period, and Seolbongseowon Confucian Academy, as well as scenic spots like Kalbawi Rock and other rock peaks along the way to the summit, Samhyeongjebawi Rock, Hoam Valley, and Hoam Mineral Spring. The course is 6.85km long and takes about 120 minutes; although slightly long, it is an easy trail suitable for beginners and children. In particular, Seolbongsan is widely known for its vibrant azalea colonies in spring, attracting many tourists. After the hike, visitors can explore the museum, art gallery, and Seolbong Sculpture Park within Seolbong Park, or relax at the nearby Anheung Resort area in the city with a hot spring bath. The Icheon Comprehensive Tourist Information Center is located near the first parking lot by Seolbong Reservoir, where tourist information can be obtained if needed. In addition to the main parking lot (Seolbong Park First Parking Lot), separate parking lots are available for all facilities such as museums and art galleries within the park, so visitors can use the parking lot closest to their chosen course. It takes about 8 minutes by car from Sindun IC, and about 10 minutes by car from Gyeonggang Line Icheon Station or Icheon Intercity Bus Terminal. Nearby attractions include Sagimakgol Pottery Village, Yes Park, Icheon Seolbong Onsen Land, Miranda Hotel Spa Plus, Seongho Lake Lotus Garden, Hantaek Botanical Garden, Jisan Forest Resort Ski Resort, Icheon Termeden, and Deokpyeong Dinosaur Arboretum.
