Nijimori Studio

Destination briefing

Why travelers stop here

Located in Dongducheon-si, Gyeonggi-do, Nijimori Studio is a film set that perfectly recreates a Japanese Edo-period village, making it feel more like Japan than Japan itself. It also fully embodies a traditional Japanese ryokan. Nijimori Studio is a theme park-style drama set led by the late director Kim Jae-hyung, known for 'The Tears of the Dragon' and 'The Woman Who Rules the World,' and was built in 2012 by purchasing a 100,000㎡ former U.S. military training site. Centered around a beautiful lake, it features a café, Japanese restaurant, costume shop, and offers experiences, sightseeing, and healing. Another characteristic is that it displays reproductions of Korean culture brought by Korean potters and artisans who went to Japan during the Baekje period. Note that this space is decorated with Japanese props and artists' works; for safety, minors can enter with their families every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday, but entry is restricted for minors every Thursday and Friday.
