Cheonjinam Shrine is a historically significant place as the birthplace of Korean Catholicism, where the remains of the founders of the Korean Catholic Church (Yi Byeok, Jeong Yak-jong, Gwon Cheol-sin, Gwon Il-sin, and Yi Seung-hun) are enshrined. The shrine has many places to visit, including the Statue of the Virgin Mary, the site of the Cheonjinam Cathedral, and the Mary's Chapel. On the 360,000 pyeong sacred site, at the 30,000 pyeong cathedral construction site, tens of thousands of believers gather every year to hold the founding anniversary ceremony of the Korean Catholic Church.
