Gyeonggi-do National Safety Experience Center

Gyeonggi-do National Safety Experience Center is the largest safety experience facility in the country, located near Osan University Station on Line 1. It opened on April 21, 2022, through collaboration between Gyeonggi-do, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and Osan City to improve citizens' crisis response capabilities and establish a safety culture in daily life. The center consists of 9 zones and 60 experience programs, including the Children's Safety Fairy Tale Village, Complex Safety Experience Center, Emergency Treatment Professional Experience Center, 4D Video Theater, and Gyeonggi Fire History Museum. Active firefighters directly conduct the training, allowing visitors to acquire more professional and practical information. All experiences operate on a reservation-only basis, and are available to children aged 5 and older, adults, people with disabilities, the elderly, and foreigners. Notably, the Gyeonggi-do National Safety Experience Center is well-equipped with barrier-free facilities, and it operates the first Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) board in the country for visitors with communication difficulties. It also provides customized support by disability type and operates dedicated education days for people with disabilities. On the first floor, the Gyeonggi Fire History Museum displays firefighting artifacts such as the oldest wooden hand pump (manual firefighting equipment) in Korea, fire alarm sirens, ancient documents, and fire helmets, offering a comprehensive view of Gyeonggi firefighting history. It is about a 5-minute drive from Osan University Station on Line 1 and about 3 minutes from Bukosan IC, with bus access from the subway station for convenient public transportation. Many visitors combine a visit with the Osan Miniature Village across the street, and nearby attractions include Mulhyanggi Arboretum, Osan Doksanseong Fortress and Semadaeji, and the Smith Peace Hall.
