Why travelers stop here
Osan Starry Tunnel BBQ is an outdoor barbecue site located in Oesammi-dong, Osan-si, Gyeonggi-do. It is a tunnel built in 1939 during the Japanese colonial period for the purpose of facilitating Japan's invasion of the continent along the Gyeongbu Line upward track, and was used until April 2004 when it became an abandoned railway due to the Gyeongbu Line double-track project. After being left neglected for nine years, construction began in April 2013, and in March 2014, it was reborn as a splendid space with 300,000 state-of-the-art LED bulbs while preserving its original state. An indoor barbecue area and café are also in operation, and tent facilities are available for use.
