Why travelers stop here
Dongducheon Tourist Zone includes the natural resources centered around Soyosan Mountain, a famous mountain in northern Gyeonggi Province, and the commercial district [Camp Bosan] in the Bosan-dong area, which has convenience facilities primarily serving U.S. troops stationed in Korea. In spring, Soyosan Mountain is adorned with azaleas and royal azaleas, and in autumn, the fall foliage creates a spectacular view. The奇特 rocks and cool valleys are also excellent. At the Soyosan Mountain tourist site, there are attractions such as Jajaeam Hermitage, where it is said that Monk Wonhyo practiced asceticism, the Five Elements Health Path, and a forest bath area. At the mountain entrance, there are restaurants selling wild greens, tteokgalbi, and other foods, as well as the Soyosan Meat Town, where high-quality beef and chicken can be enjoyed at affordable prices. The Bosan-dong area is adjacent to the U.S. 2nd Infantry Division, and since the 1950s, about 330 shops have naturally formed and are densely concentrated there. In the Bosan-dong Tourist Zone, various festivals are held each season, and resident artists of the Design Art Village independently hold a flea market on the last Saturday of every month. The unique street scenery and the fun of exploring the shops are also special. It is conveniently connected to Bosan Station on Subway Line 1, and visitors typically hike Soyosan Mountain or take a walking tour, then explore the foreigner street in the Bosan-dong area, which offers a variety of food and sights. Nearby traditional markets can also be experienced.
