Yujeong Budae Jjigae

Yujeong Budae Jjigae is located on the national road across from Exit 3 of Dongducheon Station on Line 1. The menu offers only one item: budae jjigae (army stew). It has been thriving for nearly 30 years in Dongducheon, the birthplace of budae jjigae. The dish uses generous amounts of ham, sausages, bacon, ground beef, tofu, crown daisy, glass noodles, and green onions—nearly double the ingredients used by other establishments. The unique secret of Yujeong Sikdang's budae jjigae is that it is boiled with fresh kimchi and a self-developed pure vegetable broth, resulting in a spicy yet clean flavor. Nearby Soyosan Mountain is great for hiking, and it also pairs well with visits to the Gyeonggi Northern Children's Museum and Jungang Market.
