Why travelers stop here
Daepyeongji is a semi-valley-type reservoir completed in 1964 to secure agricultural water. Located between Udusan Mountain (elevation 484m) and Maebongsan Mountain (elevation 300m), it collects clear valley water. Originally covering an area of 99,000㎡, it was expanded to 115,700㎡ through dredging. It was once well-known as a fishing spot, but has been designated as a no-fishing zone since 2017. Along the reservoir's waterfront, there is the Imjin Uibyeong Battlefield Park, established to honor General Jeong Eung-jin and the righteous army who died fighting Japanese forces at Jeolun Pass during the Imjin War (1592). About 600m from Daepyeongji, there is the Yangpyeong TPC Golf Club.
