Destination briefing
Why travelers stop here
This house, built about 200 years ago, retains the typical residential style of the Gyeonggi region. Situated with a small hill at its back, it is surrounded by lush trees and overlooks wide-open farmland, offering a fine natural landscape. It was constructed facing southeast, an ideal orientation. The overall layout forms a 'ㅁ' shape, with the main building (anchae) in an 'ㄱ' shape at the center. To the southwest, outside, is the sarangchae (guest quarters), next to which is the main gate. From the main gate, at a right angle, are attached a cowshed and a shed. Behind the main building, there is a separate shed. This house represents the typical middle-class housing of the Gyeonggi region.
