Destination briefing
Why travelers stop here
Omi Cooking Lab is a place where you can learn and make Korean cuisine using seasonal ingredients purchased from Gyeongdong Market, Cheongnyangni Market, and Yangnyeongsi Market. In particular, it offers the opportunity to systematically learn in-depth Korean cuisine that embodies Korea's fermentation culture. Classes utilize fresh Korean ingredients according to the season, and menus are tailored to accommodate various requests such as vegetarian, allergies, and religious needs. Many foreign tourists participate, so classes are conducted in English and Chinese. Regular classes operate with a capacity of 8 to 10 people, and prior consultation is required for larger groups. Class reservations can be made online. Omi Cooking Lab won the Korea Tourism Organization's Tourism Venture Contest in 2014, was selected as a tourism venture in 2016, won the Grand Prize for Excellent Food Tourism Program from the Korean Food Promotion Institute in 2020, and received the Seoul Tourism Award from the Seoul Metropolitan Government in 2021.
