Gasiri National Wind Power Plant

Gasiri, located in Pyoseon-myeon at the southeastern tip of Seogwipo-si, Jeju Island, is an area that remains relatively undeveloped within Jeju. In January 2009, it was selected as the final site through a public contest for a wind power plant site, the first in Korea to involve local residents, leading to a transformation of the village. The Gasiri National Wind Power Plant is situated in the Gasiri communal pasture, where a vast plain features a rapeseed flower complex. In spring, it is close to the Noksan-ro Rapeseed Flower Road, a famous drive course where you can enjoy the collaboration of rapeseed flowers and cherry blossoms. In autumn, the Wind Fields here offer a spectacle of shining silver grass and large wind turbines turning, providing an exotic beauty. Against the backdrop of the wind power plant, you can enjoy views of Hallasan Mountain, stone walls, and Jeju ponies and cows peacefully grazing. To the left of the wind power plant entrance is the road to Rapeseed Flower Plaza, where you can have a cup of tea and enjoy the pastoral scenery from the cafe stairs. There is also a rapeseed flower complex behind the cafe.
