Gase Oreum

Gase means 'scissors' in the Jeju dialect. Located in Pyoseon-myeon, Gase Oreum is a horseshoe-shaped oreum with its peak divided into two branches. It is called Gase Oreum because the shape of the oreum resembles scissors. Gase Oreum has five debris-covered peaks: Yeomtong Oreum, Jogeun Yeomtong, Dal Moru, Jindongsan, and Sumgolwat. However, these peaks are blocked by thickets and there are no trails, making them difficult to discover. On the first visit to Gase Oreum, there are signposts, but the trails are complex and you may get lost, so caution is required. Additionally, there is a risk of injury from thorny bushes, so it is advisable to wear long pants. On the northern peak, there is a mobile communication base station, and on the southern peak, there is a lookout post, making it easy to identify your location. Upon reaching the summit of the oreum and climbing the lookout post, you can view the cluster of oreums in Gasiri.
