Why travelers stop here
Ihwaok Steak is a steakhouse located in Dongtan, Hwaseong City, that recreates the concept of the late Joseon Dynasty and the Korean Empire period (Gaewhwa-gi). It offers a variety of steak menus, and you can enjoy set meals that include soybean paste stew (doenjang jjigae) and rice. It is located on the same block as the Dongtan Public Health Center and Dongtan Post Office, in a location where you wouldn't expect a restaurant, so you need to look carefully to find it. In line with the concept, the interior features dim lighting and a classic space reminiscent of a Western-style restaurant from the Gaewhwa-gi period in Gyeongseong (old Seoul), giving an old yet sophisticated atmosphere. Upon entering, you can see the kitchen, where steaks are grilled over charcoal. Parking is convenient, as you can use the dedicated parking space in the building's basement or nearby public parking lots.
