Why travelers stop here
Changnae-ri Mukjip is a mookbap (acorn jelly rice bowl) restaurant located in Changnae-ri, Oseong-myeon, Pyeongtaek-si, Gyeonggi-do. Although it operates with only a banner instead of a signboard, it has become famous by word of mouth enough to be introduced on TV programs. Since the restaurant uses the original family home, the interior includes both standing tables and a traditional ondol room with a mother-of-pearl chest and a wooden-floored veranda with low tables, giving a familiar feeling like visiting a countryside house. The signature menu is mookbap, but it also offers potato pancakes, acorn jelly, acorn pancakes, handmade dumpling soup, and goat stew. Mookbap can be chosen as cold or warm, and it comes with a mix of acorn jelly and changpo jelly. A bowl of rice is served separately, allowing you to mix it in or eat it on the side. The acorn jelly salad comes with thickly sliced acorn jelly and various vegetables, while the acorn pancakes and potato pancakes are thick yet crispy. Homemade dongdongju (traditional rice wine) is also sold.
