Why travelers stop here
Samsung Publishing Museum is the first specialized museum of publishing and printing established in Korea. It was founded with the purpose of instilling pride as a cultural people who invented the world's first movable metal type and flourished publishing culture, and to carry out related social educational activities. Since its opening in 1990, it has made great efforts to discover, preserve, and exhibit publishing and printing cultural heritage, which, unlike other cultural heritage, is easily lost.
The permanent exhibition hall and special exhibition hall display over 30,000 items, including numerous national treasure-level books and rare hardcovers, as well as various paper products, old movable type, printing equipment, and stationery, allowing visitors to see the 1,300-year history of Korea's publishing and printing culture.
