Why travelers stop here
Goraegok is a large dakgalbi (spicy stir-fried chicken) and makguksu (buckwheat noodles) specialty restaurant located in Seorak-myeon, Gapyeong-gun. Unlike other places, it distinguishes chicken parts, selling dakgalbi and chicken neck meat, and in addition to the commonly available perilla oil makguksu and bibim makguksu, you can uniquely enjoy pure buckwheat hoe makguksu (raw fish buckwheat noodles). Besides makguksu and dakgalbi, it also serves hanwoo (Korean beef) charcoal-grilled dishes such as hanwoo anchangsal (beef skirt meat) and hanwoo salchisal (beef ribeye cap), and offers sundae-guk (blood sausage soup) and mandu-guk (dumpling soup) as winter specials. All menu items are prepared upon order, so a short wait is required. Makguksu noodles are freshly made upon order, and dakgalbi is pre-seared after ordering. The restaurant is large and the parking lot is spacious, making it very convenient to use.
