The National Memorial of the Korean Provisional Government was established with the purpose of reexamining the spirit of self-reliance, independence, and democratic republicanism of the Korean Provisional Government as a proud history and passing it on to future generations. The site covers an area of 3,656㎡ (1,106 pyeong), with a total floor area of 9,7036㎡ (2,935 pyeong) and an exhibition area of 2,240㎡ (678 pyeong). The building has three basement levels and four above-ground levels, comprising three permanent exhibition halls, one special exhibition hall, a library and archive (Larchiveum), a symbolic plaza, a storage room, a multipurpose hall, and a rooftop garden. The permanent exhibition focuses on activities from the March 1st Movement, which led to the establishment of the Korean Provisional Government, to the founding of the Republic of Korea, which inherited the legal tradition of the provisional government. Additionally, on the outdoor plaza on the first floor of the memorial, a symbolic wall artwork titled 'Wave of History' is installed, expressing the provisional government's aspiration for independence and the dynamism of Korea's past, present, and future.
