Why travelers stop here
Geujip Haejangguk is a hangover soup specialty restaurant located opposite the south gate of Suwon Sports Complex in Jowon-dong, Jangan-gu, Suwon, Gyeonggi-do. The interior is cramped on the first floor of an old building, unable to accommodate many customers, often resulting in a waiting line. There is no separate parking lot, so customers are advised to use the Suwon Sports Complex parking lot across the street. The sole menu item is haejangguk made with bone broth from a cauldron, combined with soybean paste and ugeoji (aged cabbage leaves). Kimchi and kkakdugi (radish kimchi) are placed at each table for convenient refills. The haejangguk comes in a ttukbaegi (earthenware pot) with three or four large bone-in meat pieces, offering generous portions and good value for the price. Takeout is available, and nearby attractions include Hwaseong Fortress, Manseok Park, Gwanggyo Reservoir, and Suwon KT Wiz Park.
