Destination briefing
Why travelers stop here
Opened in 1979, this is a handmade Pyongyang naengmyeon (cold noodle) restaurant that has been operating for 36 years. The noodles are made only with a blend of pure buckwheat flour and pure sweet potato flour, without any wheat flour, and the Pyongyang naengmyeon is prepared with Daewonok's special broth and bibim sauce, offering a unique taste and shape that allows you to experience traditional Pyongyang naengmyeon. The interior has a traditional business feel, and black-and-white photos of old Suwon and Daewonok are displayed throughout, giving a sense that this is a truly long-established restaurant.
