Why travelers stop here
Gangdong Cultural Center was established in 1999 to develop, disseminate, preserve, transmit, and promote the culture of the Gangdong-gu area. Although its operations were initially insufficient after its founding in 1999, it has been actively engaged in activities since 2005, including conducting a ground survey of the Gangdong-gu area with the formation of a new executive board. Gangdong Cultural Center organizes various cultural activities for the residents of Gangdong-gu, such as the Dunchon Literary Contest, a drawing competition and art exhibition, as well as a philharmonic orchestra and a mixed choir. It also runs programs for the socially underprivileged and undertakes projects related to the Amsa-dong Prehistoric Site in Seoul, contributing to the emotional enrichment of the local community. Representative cultural courses include the Gangdong Cultural University, which offers lectures on diverse topics such as classical novels and psychology, and line dance.
