Destination briefing
Why travelers stop here
A tofu specialty restaurant located in Namhansanseong, Gwangju, Gyeonggi-do, where they have been making fist-shaped tofu by hand every morning for 40 years. The finished tofu is wrapped in cotton cloth and hardened, and because it looks like a fist, it is called fist tofu. This fist tofu is used in tofu dishes. The representative menu of this restaurant is tofu jeongol (tofu hot pot). When you order fist tofu, it is served on a white plate with fist tofu, aged kimchi, and soy sauce, which go well together. There are also menus such as sundubu baekban (soft tofu set meal), sanchae bibimbap (mountain vegetable mixed rice), toryeong dakbaeksuk (native chicken soup), and toryeong dakbokkeumtang (spicy braised native chicken).
