Why travelers stop here
Cafe Hwatong is a humanities and myeonglihak (Chinese metaphysics) cafe located at 13 Buldang-gil, Gwangju-si, Gyeonggi-do. Parking is available at the cafe's dedicated parking lot or at the Buldang-ri public parking lot across the street. It appears as a single-story building from the main road, but it has two floors, and the back side features a stream flowing with outdoor seating on the first floor. The interior is not large but is clean, with various sizes of tables arranged spaciously. This cafe offers handmade Hwatong ohaeng teas such as baekhyangcha (white fragrant tea), ogamcha (five senses tea), and daechucha (jujube tea), as well as various beverages including coffee, herbal tea, and ade (ade drinks). Desserts such as ohaeng chapssal pie (five-grain glutinous rice pie) and garaetteok-gui (grilled rice cake) are also available.
