Destination briefing
Why travelers stop here
Yeojaman Charcoal Grilled Eel is located adjacent to a wholesale and retail shop, allowing customers to enjoy fresh grilled freshwater eel at a reasonable price. It exclusively uses domestic native eel species Japonica, which are HACCP-certified and tested for 40 to 50 harmful substances once or twice a year, supplied by Deokjin Fisheries Aquaculture Union, which operates two eel farms in Ganghwado. Customers can purchase eel from Deokjin Fisheries next to the restaurant, then move to the dining area, pay a table setting fee, and grill the eel themselves. The menu also includes somyeon (thin noodles), doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew), and nurungji (scorched rice) that go well with grilled eel, and eel soup is available for takeout.
