Gaseonjeong Pavilion

Gaseonjeong Pavilion is located in Galgyesup Forest, which lies before the Galgye-ri Im Clan Old House, the former residence of Galcheon Im Hun, a renowned filial son and civil official of the mid-Joseon period. Originating from the foot of Deogyusan Mountain, the stream flows through Songgye Valley and reaches Wicheon, where it splits east and west, creating a natural island. This area, where trees harmonize with the stream, is Galgyesup Forest, one of the 13 scenic spots of Buksang-myeon. Galgyesup Forest is where Galcheon Im Hun was born, grew up, and was buried, featuring clusters of 200- to 300-year-old pine, Manchurian alder, and zelkova trees. Gaseonjeong Pavilion inside Galgyesup Forest was built in 1934 by descendants to commemorate the virtue of Galcheon Im Hun. It is a two-story pavilion with a hip-and-gable roof, measuring 2 kan in front and 2 kan on the sides. Galgyesup Forest is also called Gaseonrim due to the presence of Gaseonjeong Pavilion.

Around Gaseonjeong Pavilion, starting from Galgyesup Forest, there are numerous pavilions and shrines such as Jaidang, Seokcheonjae, Dogyjeong, Byeongamjeong, Nongunjeong, and Galcheonjeong. Tourist attractions include Wolseong Valley, Songgyesa Temple, Suseungdae, Galgye-ri Im Clan Old House, Nongsan-ri Stone Standing Buddha, the birthplace of Jeong On, and Geumwonsan Natural Recreation Forest.
