Gaya Street

Gaya Street refers to the 2.1km stretch from the National Gimhae Museum to Bonghwangdae. It is a theme street created to commemorate the birthplace of Geumgwan Gaya, comprehensively organizing the historical and cultural resources of Gaya throughout Gimhae City, and serving as a theme park connecting major historical sites of Gaya culture. Haebancheon Stream, which showcases the brilliant maritime trade of Gaya, along with the Bonghwang-dong ruins, King Suro's Tomb, Daeseong-dong Ancient Tombs, and the National Gimhae Museum, are connected along this historical landscape axis, where Gimhae's past and present coexist. Fountains symbolizing iron culture and nighttime landscape lighting evoke the prosperity of Gaya culture, and the Gimhae Citizens' Bell, with its unique design embodying the six Gaya states and Gaya pottery, has been installed. Themed gardens, small plazas, and rest areas that encapsulate the living environment of the Gaya people have also been created. Gaya Street has been selected as one of the 100 Beautiful Roads of Korea by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and has also been chosen as one of the 18 Untact Healing Tourism spots in South Gyeongsang Province and one of the 12 Best Walking Paths in Gimhae City, making it a notable attraction in Gimhae.
