Seomgang is a tributary of the Han River, originating from Taegisan Mountain in Hoengseong-gun, passing through Hoengseong Dam in Daegwan-ri, Hoengseong-gun, and joining the Namhan River. The name Seomgang is said to have been derived from a toad-shaped rock on the riverbank. Flowing under Hoengseong Bridge, Seomgang is a clean and serene river, ideal for fishing and water play. Seomgang Recreation Area is a riverside park in Bukcheon-ri, Hoengseong-eup, Hoengseong-gun. It is a place for tent camping and auto camping, known as a mecca for free car camping. The recreation area features a parking lot, simple restrooms, stepping stones, and decks, allowing visitors to cross or walk along the river while enjoying Hoengseong's beautiful nature. It is located close to tourist attractions such as the Hoengseong Hanwoo Festival site and Cheongtaesan Natural Recreation Forest. The distance from Hoengseong Terminal to Seomgang Recreation Area is approximately 2 km.
