Baekdudaegan Valley Train (V-Train)

The Baekdudaegan Valley Train (V-Train) is a tourist train operated by Korail on the Yeongdong Line, running through the most beautiful section of the central inland region: Yeongju, Bonghwa, Chunyang, Buncheon, Yangwon, Seungbu, and Cheoram (27.7 km). It is Korea's first open-type tourist train that operates between the deep valleys of the Baekdudaegan mountain range, surrounded by cliffs and rocky mountains.

The 'V' in V-Train symbolizes the deep valleys of the Baekdudaegan and also stands for 'valley,' expressing the dynamic joy of travel. The white tiger pattern exterior design embodies the spirit of the Baekdudaegan tiger, and the interior, except for the ceiling, is made of large glass windows, allowing passengers to fully experience the clean nature of the forest and valleys. Additionally, as an eco-friendly train, there are no restrooms or heating/cooling systems in the cabins. In summer, solar-powered fans are used, and in winter, a wood-burning stove provides warmth and even allows for roasting sweet potatoes, adding a touch of romance.
