Located at the entrance of Sobaeksan National Park in Danyang-gun, the Darian Ductile Shear Zone is where Proterozoic granite gneiss and Paleozoic Cambrian Jangsan quartzite come into contact. The contact zone between them has developed mylonite, forming a shear zone. This is part of the Okdong Fault, and the time gap between these strata is 1.3 billion years, making it geologically very significant. <br /><br /><Source: National Geopark>
