Destination briefing

Why travelers stop here

Hujin Village is a fishing village located approximately 1.5 km north of Samcheok City Hall. The name 'Hujin' comes from the Korean words 'hu' (behind) and 'jin' (ferry), meaning 'the back road where boats travel.' It is close to both Samcheok city and Donghae city, attracting visitors from all over the country, including residents of Samcheok and Donghae, as well as tourists staying at Sol Beach Resort. The village sits at the entrance of Isabu Road (a coastal road) that was selected as one of the top 100 untact tourism destinations, and it is adjacent to a small harbor. Hujin Village boasts the largest beach in the area, with a wide, long white sand beach stretching 1.2 km in length and 100 m in width, surrounded by lush pine forests. The water depth is about 1 to 1.5 meters, making it ideal for snorkeling and various activities. With abundant fishery resources, the Samcheok Port Live Fish Center offers a variety of seafood. Along the beautiful coastline, visitors can enjoy various marine sports such as snorkeling and transparent kayaking. The village also operates a fishing village experience program, making it a great place for ecological learning and experiencing the charm of Samcheok. To the south, along the Saenyeonnyeon Coastal Recreation Area (road), there are many tourist attractions such as a sculpture park and the Tower of Wishes, offering a variety of sights that draw many tourists. On weekends, it is also famous as the terminus of the fantastic coastal train journey departing from Cheongnyangni.
