Mangyeon Falls

Mangyeon Falls is located below the pass leading to Suman-ri on the eastern foot of Mt. Mangyeon in Hwasun-eup. The waterfall, falling from a height of 10 meters, has been visited by neuralgia patients since ancient times for healing.

A legend surrounds Mangyeon Falls. In the past, Manseok and Yeonsun were in love, but Manseok went to war and they were separated. While waiting for Manseok, who did not return, Yeonsun was forced by her parents to marry another man. On the day of the wedding, she saw Manseok, who had become disfigured. Yeonsun fled the bridal chamber, secretly met Manseok, and came to this waterfall. Saying they would fulfill their unfinished love in the afterlife, they jumped into the waterfall and died. Since then, the waterfall has been called Mangyeon Falls.
