Manhae Village is a training center established to honor Manhae Han Yong-un, a poet, great Buddhist master, and national activist who instilled the spirit of the nation during the Japanese colonial period. Major facilities include the Manhae Literature Museum, the Writer's House, Manhae School, Simujang, Seowon Bojeon, the Silence of the Beloved Square, and the Silence of the Beloved Walking Trail. The village consists of the Writer's House for writers, Seorak Hall for group MT and training, Geumgang Hall for group training and intensive study, the Manhae Literature Museum, Seowon Bojeon for temple experience, a restaurant, a book café as a resting space, and the Silence of the Beloved Square where nature can be felt and performances enjoyed. The Manhae Literature Museum displays Manhae's writings and personal effects. It also features permanent exhibitions on the life of Manhae Han Yong-un by period and theme, as well as art, photographs, and poetry and literary works, offering insights into his literary achievements, liberal ideas, and national spirit. Nearby attractions include the Korean Poetry Museum, which systematically displays poetry collections from Korea's modern and contemporary periods; the Yeocho Calligraphy Museum, a specialized calligraphy museum exhibiting cultural heritage-level calligraphy works and personal effects of Yeocho Kim Eung-hyeon, regarded as the greatest master of modern and contemporary Korean calligraphy; and Dolbae Campground, where one can enjoy mountain and forest valleys.
