Why travelers stop here
Passing by the Boseong green tea fields and heading toward Hoecheon-myeon, you will encounter a hill road, and on the right side of that road, Myeongnyang Dawon comes into view. The sales shop is easily noticeable the moment you enter the parking lot, as a large two-story hanok pavilion catches your eye at once. At first glance, it resembles a Joseon Dynasty royal palace that you might expect to see in Seoul. For this reason, it is also popular as a photo backdrop for tourists visiting the tea fields. The building set on the ridge and the tea fields spreading out behind it have their own charm. The sales shop, like other tea gardens in the Boseong area, also serves as a tasting room. The scenery viewed while sipping a cup of green tea provided on the hanok-style terrace is truly spectacular. Owner Lim Heung-jun, who started sales in 2000, is a tea-growing farmer who received the Presidential Award in the field of agricultural management innovation. Botjae Dawon primarily sells loose-leaf green tea, but also offers various products such as green tea processed items (tea bags, powder, snacks) and consigned tea utensils. The loose-leaf green tea is handmade from the tea field attached to the sales shop. Myeongnyang Dawon is a place where you can enjoy both taste and sightseeing.
