Destination briefing
Why travelers stop here
Located in Hwaji-ri, Cheorwon-eup, Cheorwon-gun, Gangwon-do, the tombstone of General Kim Eung-ha (also known as Yodongbaek) is a tomb commemorating General Kim Eung-ha, who, when the Jianzhou Wei rebelled against the Ming Dynasty and requested reinforcements from Joseon, participated as a Left Army Commander, achieved military merits, and died in battle in March of the following year. Recognized as one of Cheorwon's representative designated cultural properties, the tombstone of General Kim Eung-ha (Yodongbaek) lost its shrine (Pochung Sau) during the Korean War, leaving only the stele, which was later re-enshrined through the efforts of local Confucian scholars and the Cheorwon County Magistrate. Visiting and touring the ancestral tombs with children will provide a valuable educational experience.
