Destination briefing
Why travelers stop here
Buam-dong in Jongno-gu is a neighborhood with a blend of the sophisticated atmosphere of Samcheong-dong and the rustic charm of old, winding alleyways that retain their vintage appearance. It features art galleries, unique cafes, and restaurants alongside 1960s-70s-era mills and barbershops. Originally a slow-paced village for artists including painters, writers, and professors, it has recently gained fame from the drama "Coffee Prince 1st Shop" for the house of Choi Han-sung, located near the Buam-dong Community Service Center. From there to the Sanmotoong Cafe, the streets are lined with distinctive cafes and shops. Along with Samcheong-dong and Sinsa-dong Garosu-gil, it is noted as a trendy area. It is a good walking course and a neighborhood with diverse aspects, including a touristy vibe.
