Gadeokdo Yeondaebong

부산광역시 강서구 천성동

Destination briefing

Why travelers stop here

Gadeokdo is the largest island belonging to Busan, and it is estimated that people have lived there since the Neolithic Age. It is an island that has witnessed the painful history of Korea, including the Japanese invasions of Korea (Imjin War) and the Japanese colonial period. Yeondaebong Peak, at an altitude of 459 meters, is a mountain that can be climbed in 2 to 3 hours. Although it is not very high and not difficult to climb, reaching the summit gives you the feeling and view of having climbed a high mountain. The mountain's gentle terrain makes it suitable for light family hikes. Near the summit, you can see the sea of Gadeokdo and the Geoga Bridge at a glance. At the top of Yeondaebong, you can see the beacon fire station where, during the Japanese invasions of Korea, the first signal fire was lit to report the sighting of Japanese enemies. It is a place where you can simultaneously feel the freshness of the mountain and the sea.
