Destination briefing
Why travelers stop here
Mugyodong Bugeogukjip, which has preserved the unique taste of savory dried pollock hangover soup by cooking in the traditional way, is located behind Seoul City Hall. This restaurant, which has been in its place since 1968, was originally known as Teojutgol, but its name has now changed to Mugyodong Bugeogukjip. The menu consists of a single item: dried pollock hangover soup. Even on weekdays, there is a line outside the restaurant, but since there is only one menu item, the food comes out quickly. The rich and milky broth of the dried pollock soup soothes the stomach, and since the rice and soup are continuously refillable, it is good to eat as much as you want at a low cost.
