Matsuya

Matsuya, meaning 'pine tree house,' is a specialty restaurant for udon, soba, and sushi located on the 5th floor of the main building of Shinsegae Department Store headquarters at 63 Sogong-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul. Known for its deep broth udon, it offers authentic Japanese udon flavor using hand-pulled noodles and broth made with the techniques of Japanese artisans. The soba broth, carefully simmered for 12 hours with top-quality skipjack tuna flakes, sardines, kelp, and radish, is sufficient to showcase the original taste of Japan. Ordering the Zaru Soba set meal, made with the recipe of Japanese soba master Norihiko Hasebe, allows you to enjoy fresh 5-piece sushi, crispy tempura, and chewy, light soba noodles dipped in a deep, refreshing broth.
