Destination briefing
Why travelers stop here
Jinju Hoe-gwan is a cold soybean noodle soup (kongguksu) specialty restaurant that opened in 1962 and has been run by the third generation. It uses only pure Korean native hwangtae (yellow) soybeans produced in the Gangwon-do region to make nutritious kongguksu. The soybean broth is rich and savory, harmonizing well with the chewy noodles. The kimchi served alongside is said to have a tangy taste and is a delicacy. Kongguksu is sold only from March to November, and if you want to experience the deep flavor of kongguksu in Seoul, this place is recommended.
