Why travelers stop here
Darakjeong is a long-standing mandu jeongol (dumpling hot pot) specialty restaurant that has been in business since 1991. Its signature dish is the spicy and tangy kimchi mandu jeongol. What sets it apart from other restaurants' mandu jeongol is the addition of jeon (Korean pancakes). It has a similar feel to jeon jjigae (a stew made with leftover jeon) often enjoyed during holidays. The chewy dumpling skin is filled with various ingredients such as pork, tofu, and zucchini. The broth boasts a refreshing and deep flavor rather than an artificial spiciness. In addition to kimchi mandu jeongol, the tojang (soybean paste) mandu jeongol, similar to a clear doenjang jjigae, is also one of the popular menu items.
