Ganghwa Old Downtown Storywalk

The Ganghwa Storywalk allows you to walk through the hidden history and culture of Ganghwa-eup, offering a glimpse of Ganghwa's history, industry, and religion at a glance. It is even more meaningful because it is connected not only to Ganghwa's history but also to Korea's modern history. The route includes Simdo Textile (site), where you can feel Ganghwa's heyday; the Anglican Church of Ganghwa, the oldest church built in a hanok style; the Ganghwa 3·1 Independence Movement Monument, commemorating the large-scale independence movement in Ganghwa; the Nodok Pastoral Marker, commemorating the first case of active intervention in labor issues by the Korean Catholic Church; the 700-year-old ginkgo tree that has stood guard over Ganghwa-eup since the Goryeo period; the Ihwa Gyeonjik Damjang-gil, which introduces the story of Ganghwa textiles; Joyang Bangjik, the oldest modern textile factory in Korea; Ganghwa Central Church, a site of Ganghwa's independence movement; the Hapil Elementary School Independence Movement Road; and the Sochang Experience Center, where you can experience Ganghwa's traditional weaving industry with all five senses. A travel product that allows you to tour major tourist attractions such as Goryeo Palace Site on an eco-friendly electric bicycle is also available.
