Destination briefing

Why travelers stop here

This is a hanji (Korean traditional paper) craft workshop run by Master Lee Mi-ja, the 6th craft master of Incheon. The craft master sells and offers experiences with small items and artworks made primarily from Korean hanji, including key rings, Korean consonants and vowels, beoseon (traditional Korean socks), lattice window frames, traditional lanterns, hand-stitched hanji notebooks, and gwimyeon (goblin) faces. The workshop opened in Gimpo in 1988 and has been selling hanji products and operating experience zones in Insa-dong and the Incheon area. Hanji is appealing to modern society through its globalization, excellence, and iconicity in hanji crafts, and is particularly attracting attention as a tourism resource.
