Why travelers stop here
Ganghwa Yongdure Village is an agricultural and fishing experience and recreation village that preserves the beautiful tradition of drawing water to the rhythm of the grandfathers' hearty Yongdure (water scoop) songs echoing across the fields. It is a place where visitors can learn the value of Korean rural life through experiences such as Yongdure water scooping, natural dyeing, and traditional cooking. According to legend, this village has been blessed with clear water that has produced great figures since ancient times. To the south and east, Bonghwa Mountain and Guksu Mountain embrace the village like a mother's arms, while to the west, Seokmodo Island and the West Sea unfold, offering a view of the beautiful sunset over the West Sea. Additionally, when the tide recedes at the edge of the vast farmland, visitors can enjoy clam picking and mudskipper fishing on the mudflats. In winter, migratory birds such as mallards and geese flock here, providing another spectacular sight.
