Ganghwado Hwangcheong Fishing Spot

Located on Hwangcheongpogu-ro, Hwangcheong Fishing Spot is a valley-type reservoir built in 1993, surrounded by deep mountains and old pine trees, making it cozy and quiet. The water surface area is about 23,000 pyeong, with an average depth of 2.5m to 4m and a maximum depth of over 15m. It is a fishing spot with a great view of the wide sea. The water volume is abundant, having never been drained since completion, and the air is clean, allowing you to see fireflies in summer. The main fish species caught are crucian carp, carp, leather carp, and Korean bullhead, which only grow in clear water, while the representative winter fish is smelt. The upstream stream water is so clear that crayfish still live there. There are water platforms and individual platforms, and shades can be installed for fishing regardless of weather. It also operates bungalows and condo-style accommodations suitable for families.
