Anheung Recreation Area is a beautiful attraction where Anheungji Pond and Aeryeonjeong Pavilion harmonize. A walking trail has been created around Anheungji Pond and Aeryeonjeong Pavilion, making it a popular spot for citizens. As you walk along the trail, you can see an unusual sight of stone monuments lined up, and there are plenty of things to see along the way, delighting the eyes. Aeryeonjeong Pavilion is designated as Icheon-si Local Heritage No. 15. According to the Icheon-eupji, it is unknown when the pavilion was first built south of the guesthouse, but it was rebuilt in the 10th year of King Sejong (1428) and rebuilt again in the 5th year of King Seongjong (1474) by Icheon Magistrate Yi Se-bo. It is said that Anheungji Pond was dug in the wetland next to the pavilion, lotus flowers were planted in the middle, and the name Aeryeonjeong was given by Yeonguijeong Shin Suk-ju. From Aeryeonjeong Pavilion, you can take in a panoramic view of Anheungji Pond, and every summer, you can see the lotus flowers in full bloom.
