Why travelers stop here
Gungpyeong Port Haesong Forest was created around 1800 as a windbreak forest. Over 200 years old, the black pine trees stand so densely that they block out the sky. This pine forest offers a 700m walking trail where visitors can enjoy the scent of pine carried by the cool sea breeze. The approximately 2km mudflat exposed at low tide serves as a natural learning site, and during high tide, which lasts about 2 hours a day, visitors can enjoy swimming. Nearby Gungpyeong Port is the 4th of the 8 scenic spots of Hwaseong, famous for its sunset views.
