Why travelers stop here
Gungpyeong-ri Beach is a modest beach with a white sand shoreline stretching 2 km in length and 50 m in width, located in front of Gungpyeong Port. Situated at the tip of the Namyang Peninsula, it features a dense forest of black pines over 100 years old right in front. During low tide, visitors can enjoy various activities such as mudflat experiences and sea fishing on the approximately 2 km mudflat, and during high tide, swimming is possible for over two hours a day. Additionally, there are walking trails along the beach leading to Gungpyeong Port and the pine grove in both directions. At Gungpyeong-ri Beach, shade tents and parasols can be set up, and car camping is also allowed. Car camping and car picnics are available for a fee in designated areas (private property), and cooking is permitted.
