Why travelers stop here
Dorasan Peace Park is an essential stop on the DMZ tour. Planning began with the opening of Dorasan Station in 2002, construction started on May 12, 2006, was completed on June 13, 2008, and opened to the public on September 10, 2008. In particular, the Forest of Unity was created with donations and tree offerings from Gyeonggi Province residents who love peace. Going forward, Dorasan Peace Park will establish itself not only as an educational venue to remind youth of the importance of peace and ecology through the history of the DMZ, but also as a 'meeting place for those who love peace.' The Peace Park features a Korean Peninsula-shaped ecological pond and an observation deck, allowing visitors to experience the natural state of the DMZ. Additionally, the exhibition hall within the park offers the latest three-dimensional videos showcasing the history of Dorasan and materials on the natural state of the DMZ.
